Brandy Klark (Aubrey Plaza) has just graduated from high school where she excelled in every subject, except real-life sexual education. When her older sister tells her how important it is to be experienced, Brandy writes out a sex to do list for herself for the summer. Her friend Cameron might be the perfect guinea pig while she sets her sights on the popular and sexy Rusty Waters as the ultimate end goal. But once feelings get in the way, it becomes much harder for Brandy to check off the remaining items on her sex to do list.

Aubrey Plaza is a girl and she is funny
If you watch comedies looking for something reminiscent of Mel Brooks, you're going to be out of luck in general.
Today comedy is all about the joke without the wit. It's, laugh at this since you do not have to think about it.
However, 'The to do list' presents something most comedies do not: a message.
'The to do list' deals with themes of female sexuality and sexual exploration of youth, set in the early to mid 90's. It presents a girl who has focused on school and never attempted to learn about sex or relationships.
The story is her quest to get an 'A' so to speak in sex before heading off to college. She wants to be prepared, who can blame her. Through the course of the movie, she ultimately learns it wasn't the sex which was a big deal, but the emotions and feelings behind it.
Great movie, great cast: Aubrey Plaza, Johnny Simmons, Alia Shawkat, Sarah Steele (who I now have a crush on). The movie I felt had a nice flow, as it takes part over a whole summer. It wasn't rushed and based mainly around certain scenes to work around 'The list'.
My biggest laughs came from Donald Glover's character.
It's worth a watch, but it will be awkward as god's underwear if you watch this with your family.
